Trenton Smith is a 2021 graduate of Samford University with a B.S. in Music Education and summa cum laude honors. Mr. Smith graduated top of his class in the School of the Arts, and was recognized as the Top Music Senior of his graduating class. This is his fourth year as a teacher with Pelham City Schools, he currently teaches Class Percussion and Jazz Band at the high school, while also assisting the band classes at the high school and middle school.
Mr. Smith was well involved in a number of ensembles and performance groups while at Samford, including the Samford University Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and Jazz Band. He has performed with the Collegiate All-Star Percussion Ensemble with Michael Burritt, the AMEA Intercollegiate Honor Band as the timpani soloist, the Aeolians, All-State Choir, Red Mountain Theatre Company, Alabama School of Fine Arts, and more. Mr. Smith is still an active performer in the area and is currently a member of the Alabama Winds and the Birmingham Music Club.
