I have been a high school counselor since 2005, previously working at Lake Brantley High School in
Altamonte Springs, Florida and Pleasant Grove High School in Pleasant Grove,
Alabama. I received my M.A. degree in Counseling from the University of Alabama
at Birmingham (UAB) in 2005, with a specialization in School Counseling, and a
double B.A. degree in both Psychology and Criminal Justice from UAB in 2002.
I have been an active member of the Alabama Counseling
Association, serving the local chapter as the publications coordinator from
2009-2011, president from 2011-2012, historian from 2015-2016, and secretary
2016-2017. I have also been
affiliated with other counseling associations including the Southern
Association for College Admission Counseling (SACAC), National Association for
College Admission Counseling (NACAC), and American School Counselor Association
(ASCA).
I love my job and I especially love working with high school students. It
is rewarding to watch students realize their college and career goals, and then
take steps to make those goals come true.
I try to show my students that with determination and hard work they can
achieve anything, and I hope I inspire them to achieve their goals.
