Greetings!
I'm Katie Travis, and I teach Adv. English 10 and AP Language & Composition. This is my 13th year as a teacher, and I am so happy to be a part of this wonderful school and community. I come from a long line of educators on both sides of my family, and I understand the transformative power of a quality education; therefore, I am committed to delivering rigorous instruction to all students who walk into my room, motivating them to achieve through hard work and self-advocacy, and igniting their love of learning.
For my bachelor's degree, I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Alabama with a double-major in English and Secondary Education. I also hold a masters degree in Secondary Education-Language Arts and am committed to a rigorous curriculum.
I am a lover of clever puns, cacio e pepe, and classical piano. Some of my other passions include reading great books (Ralph Waldo Emerson is a favorite), gardening, cooking with my husband, and listening to the podcast Radiolab.
