Scholars Bowl:
 Our team placed 10th out of 24 teams!  Connor McDonald was 7th overall and made the All Star Team.

Elizabeth Foret 
 made the  2024 Alabama All-State Choir. She will participate in the festival February 19 - March 2. Congratulations Elizabeth!


A big congratulations to Mrs. Hatch and our Creative Writing students. 
Out of 40 teams at the JSU Writers Bowl,  PHS won 1st place in the poetry contest and 2nd place overall!  This was the first time PHS participated in this competition. Team members were: Gracie Lewis (10), Amanda Orr (10), Alex Adams (11), Owen Jarvis (11), Caroline Otis (12), and Alex Pettway (12).  Way to go!


 
Our PHS Green Machine knocked it out of the park again at their weekend competition at Jacksonville State University. PHS won the following awards: 6A Champions (1st Place Band), Most Outstanding Percussion, and Most Outstanding Musical Achievement. What an awesome accomplishment! 

 



SHOUT OUT TO
Mrs. Blake and PTO for another fantastic Miss PHS pageant! Also, thanks to Mr. Litten for his tech skills and Ms. Bailey for her choreography!

Girls Basketball:   Girls Basketball team advanced to the Sweet 16 for the 4th year in a row!  Congratulations to Coach Morrison, her staff and our players! 
Our girls team advances to the Area Championship after defeating Helena! 
Boys Basketball:  9th Grade boys won the end of the season Championship!  Back to Back Champions!
Majorettes: Placed 2nd in the High School Halftime category.
Dance Team:  Placed 12th at Nationals in the High School Kick Division 


Mrs. Stewart's FTA (Future Teachers of Alabama) Students

Boys Basketball
won the Turkey Tip Off Tournament for the 2nd year in a row! Congratulations to our Coaches and players!


Boys & Girls Cross Country
competed well in the AHSAA State Meet Saturday in Moulton, Alabama.  Several of our student-athletes had great individual performances: Proud of our teams for advancing to the State Meet!

PHS Cheerleaders
placed 7th in the AHSAA Regional Cheer Competition and received a BID to the AHSAA State Cheer competition in December.  Additionally, they participated in the UCA Regional Cheer competition today (Sunday) and received a BID to Nationals!  Congratulations to Coach Dickens, Coach Ray, and PHS Cheer! 



PHS Dance team
competed in the Regional Dance Competition in Brandon, Mississippi on Saturday.  The team placed 1st in the Jazz (Routine) Competition and 2nd in the Kick (Routine) Competition.  Additionally, they won the Sportsmanship Award for their kindness and support of other teams. Congrats to our PHS Dance Team!
